Solvent Red 49

Solvent Red 49 (Rhodamine B) is a bright purplish pink dye powder of the xanthene series.  When added to liquid medium, it exhibits a strong orange pink fluorescence and it and related xanthene based dyes are used as tracer dyes.It is most soluble in ketones and alcohols and is of poor lightfastness.
